We are living in such strange times and I hope that all of you are keeping well and safe in these difficult days. So many events and fairs have been cancelled but now that life is gradually getting back to a new normal, some markets are starting up again. I will be joining Duck Pond Markets in a new event in Gunnersbury Park Ealing W5 on Saturday 22nd August and Saturday 12th September from 10 to 3pm. Thers is paid parking in the park and some free parking in the roads around the area. It is a brave new venture and it would be lovely to see dome familiar faces there!
Beat 2020 is different this year due to Covid restrictions so the artists have been invited to submit two pieces of work into an online auction which will take place over the weekends of the 5th and 6th and 12th and 13th of September. Full details are available on the BEAT website. I am submitting two large handled stoneware platters as shown below.
They measure 30cm diameter and are both food safe and made with love to be used and enjoyed. They are from a recent firing and are part of my Watercolour collection.
I am participating in two events leading up to Christmas.
Firstly, I will be at a selected arts and crafts market;
Pop Up Art
Sunday 17th November between 11 am and 6pm at;
46 South Ealing Rd
London W5 4QA
My final event of the year will be at Light up the Lane which is a delightful family event on Sunday 1st December in Pitshanger Lane in Ealing W5. The Lane is turned into a festive market with carols, childrens' performances and lots of fascinating arts, crafts and food stalls. At the end of the evening the beautiful Christmas lights are turned on which is always a great moment.
This not to be missed event runs from 4pm to 8pm.
I have just published a book on Amazon Kindle called
"The Oyster House." which you might like to check out!
BEAT was amazing this year and we had lots of visitors who clearly enjoyed the whole art trail. There were so many different venues and artists to visit and there was a tremendous buzz in the whole area. It was also very encouraging to see so many families getting involved and our dog particularly enjoyed hoovering up the cake crumbs after the little ones had moved on.
I was delighted with the response to my new work and also with the sale of two large bowls in aid of the Teenage Cancer Research Trust which raised £400 for the charity.
I am planning a couple of events later in the year and further details will follow. In the meantime , I would like to thank all those who attended our BEAT open days and thank them for their support and enthusiasm.
I have been out of action for about six months following an operation just before Christmas 2018 but I am now back in action and delighted to be back in the workshop. Everybody is most welcome to join Jim and I for our BEAT sale and exhibition this year and we look forward to seeing you. Children are welcome and refreshments will be served.
